Christmas at the Mansion returns this year with three additional days to experience the warmth, charm, and cheer of the holiday season. Throughout the historic Van Orden Mansion twelve real Christmas trees and the rooms they are in will be decorated taking inspiration from this year’s theme – “Stories of Christmas.” From the Nativity story to modern classics, Christmas stories will inspire the decorations that some of our decorators have been working on all year long. The first-floor rooms will be decorated to A Christmas Carol, A Cranberry Christmas, the Nutcracker, the Elves and the Shoemaker, and the Biblical Christmas story. The second-floor rooms will be decorated to A Visit from St. Nicholas, Frosty the Snowman, The Snow Tree, The Lump of Coal, The Dragon in the Christmas Tree, Izod -The Christmas Dragon, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, American St. Nick, and the story of George Washington crossing the Delaware on Christmas Day.
Lead decorators this year include Amy Terbilcox, Lindy Larsen, Dave SaLoutos, Laurie Dummer, Sandy Snow, Kathy Calabrese, Paul Wolter, Bekah Kate Stelling, Raina and Kathy Roloff, Morgan Tribbey, Nancy Rago and the Baraboo Library.
The mansion will be open from 12 to 4 pm each day on December 16 and 17.
Come enjoy the wonder of the Christmas season at the Van Orden Mansion this year as we celebrate The Traditions of Christmas!
