Remnants of ancient Indigenous lifeways in Sauk County are still evident in Sauk County if you know where to look. One of Sauk County’s rarest sites is an area nestled in the woods known as the Hulburt Creek Garden Beds, part of which are owned by the Society. Find out more about these 1,000 year remnants of agriculture from archaeologist and SCHS board member Seth Taft.
