Payment by check: Click the Pay by Check button below to complete a form detailing your research / reference request. Submit the form and send a check to:

Please click "REQUEST RESEARCH AND THE END OF THE FORM. THEN GO TO THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE WEBSITE AND CLICK ON THE CART to start your research request with an initial payment. We will contact you should additional time be required to fulfill your request.
Request SCHS staff to research its probate records for an specific individual from the full collection of probate records archived by the Sauk County Historical Society.
There is a $20.00 (member) or $25 (non-member) charge with your request to initiate a preliminary search. Allow up to 4 weeks from receipt of payment for response.
You will be notified of what we found and of any additional research & copy fees. In order to maximize the potential results of your request, please keep the following suggestions in mind as you prepare your query:
Direct Research Clearly define the scope of your query. For example, please provide specific names, dates, locations, etc. (when known). Keep in mind that our collections emphasize Sauk County area history and genealogy.
Research Objectives It is important that you explicitly state your intended research objectives. Essentially, what do you know and what do you want to find out?
Prior Sources In an effort to prevent repetitive research, please be sure to indicate the sources that you have already consulted during the course of any previous research.
