New Website for SCHS

I'm excited to report that the Sauk County Historical Society has a new website! The old website was ably managed by SCHS Secretary and all-around-good-guy Bill Schuette but because of the platform it was on it was hard to change. The old website had grown to over 500 pages so the thought of changing all of that was not a fun prospect. Thanks to one of our new (returning) board members, Bev, Vaillancourt, who owns a digital solutions company called PowerUp Design, we now have a new site! For the past several weeks Bill worked with Bev to transfer all of the old content and improve access all around. Bev has laid out a beautiful, easy to navigate and organized website that works on mobile devices as well as computers. There was so much stuff, much of it was forgotten, but it is all now organized and accessible. The new website is much more searchable with a search bar at the top of each page that will search across the site. A new shopping cart system will allow users to buy a book or DVD, buy a membership and make a donation all at one time. Current members can even renew online!  I can't thank Bev and Bill enough for making this happen. They turned a daunting, overwhelming task into a beautiful up-to-date website! Enjoy!    Paul Wolter-Executive Director SCHS.
